Bio

I am an Assistant Professor of Philosophy at Southern Utah University. I completed my PhD at Northwestern University in 2019.

My research centers on how communication works–and how it goes wrong–especially in non-ideal circumstances. I use tools from linguistic pragmatics to understand various phenomena: the role of power in communication, discursive injustice, and miscommunication.

Outside of philosophy, I enjoy cooking and eating good food, running and hiking in the Utah wilderness, and learning how to sew.
