Bio

I am an Assistant Professor of Philosophy at Southern Utah University. I completed my PhD at Northwestern University in 2019.

My research centers on how communication works–and how it goes wrong–especially in non-ideal circumstances. I use tools from linguistic pragmatics to understand various phenomena: the role of power in communication, discursive injustice, and the communication of consent.

But I don’t like to spend all my time on philosophy. I also enjoy cooking and eating good food, exploring the natural beauty of Utah and surrounding areas, and watching TV.
